Once there was a little red bird. The bird could not fly. She was sad.
"I want to fly," said the bird. "I want to go up, up, up!"
The bird tried and tried. She went up a little. Then she came down.
"I can help you," said a big blue bird. "Come with me."
The big bird showed the little bird how to fly. "Put your wings out," he said. "Now go up and down, up and down."
The little red bird did what the big bird said. She put her wings out. She went up and down.
"Look at me!" said the little red bird. "I can fly! I can go up in the sky!"
Now the little red bird was happy. She could fly with all the other birds.
"Thank you," she said to the big blue bird. "You are a good friend."
The two birds flew away together. They were both happy.
